NAEYC Quotes

The following quotes are ideals from the NAEYC website.

To create and maintain safe and healthy settings
that foster children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and
physical development and that respect their dignity
and their contributions.”

I believe that teachers should strive to enrich the whole child, not just their academic growth. As teachers our goal is to create an environment where children can thrive and grow mentally, physically, and emotionally.

To listen to families, acknowledge and build upon
their strengths and competencies, and learn from
families as we support them in their task of nurturing
children.

I believe that parents/families play an important role in a child’s education. Teachers should do their best to seek the input of and include parents and families in classroom activities whenever possible.

To share resources with co-workers, collaborating
to ensure that the best possible early childhood
care and education program is provided.”
I believe that our team members and co-workers are one of our greatest resources as teachers.

  1. I think that we think alike! I feel strongly that we need to educate the whole family and not just the child. We need to listen and work with the families because they are the first teacher. It is also very important for children to see the respect and friendship between teachers.

  2. Angela,
I feel the same way about these ideals. Now, I understand why I love your blog. I choose the same ideals. You are an amazing child educator. What you said about collaborating is so true. Collaborating is important because it makes us grow professionally, and it is good for the children to see adults model collaboration, respect and understanding. it creates a healthy learning environment that gives children the opportunity to develop a good internal model.

  3. Angela, I have enjoyed reading your blog during this class. You are an important resource in the lives of the children that you teach. I hope that you continue to stay true to your ideals and thoughts on helping the family as well as the child. I believe that if you teach the family how to advocate for the child, the child will continue to get the support that he needs well after he has left your classroom. Good luck to you in all that you do!

I have gone to your blog every week because I knew I was going to find out something new, exciting or just plain heart-warming. I am glad to have learned from teachers like you. It makes me feel great to know that there are people who share my love and dedication for the early childhood field, and are working tirelessly on improving the lives of young children and their families. I am looking forward to our next course together.
